The only reason I can think of is if they were being overly "affectionate" in it. Then yes. Gay or straight, nobody wants to see that.

It's not illegal not to associate. It's illegal to deny them the same rights. If you advertise a property for rent you can't discriminate based on sex, religion, orientation, race, etc. That's not the same as providing a specialized service beyond what's premade for the general public such as a specialized cake or writing a message on said cake. Anything available to the general public must be available to ALL the public. Anything beyond that is your discretion and you can deny it based on any reason or none at all. Edit: Technically the religious group could have sued because the restaurant was open to the public. Since that would interfere with most Christian beliefs they wouldn't. Until it is done, that will continue.

That's exactly what the Supreme Court said too. They said you can't force someone to make something not already available to the general public. Any premade cake he had to sell them, but not altering especially for the customer isn't discrimination, it's his right.

If it was really close that's suspicious. If they kept you on for several months and then fired it wouldn't be even thought about as the reason. Usually those cases involve being treated differently before they're letting go that have witnesses and such.
