@konradrousseau4570 There's a peace deal brokered by the US when he invaded Georgia. Has he invaded Georgia again? No. He keeps referring to deals guaranteed by France and Germany. Countries that can't even defend themselves much less be any type of threat to Russia. Germany also relies on Russia for gas so they're dependent on Putin. As for the guarantee Trump is offering, there's a big difference between a private company independently deciding to have a business in Ukraine and a government backed one doing so. The US isn't reliant on anything the few businesses there are selling in Ukraine. We will be reliant on the minerals. A disruption in the supply would directly impact businesses IN the US. Including government research and weapon manufacturing. You're either extremely ignorant or acting in bad faith if you don't understand the difference.

daveyh-w6q Then there's no reason for Putin to agree to it. They are not even a tiny threat to him. They're not powerful enough to negotiate anything. Especially since many of them rely on Russia for oil and gas.

@deufvelli There's this thing called reality. You can want something all you'd like. It doesn't mean you're capable of getting it. They're not. They've had 3 years and massive amounts of weapons. They don't have the manpower to fight much longer. They're running out of men.

@lluNr3aL He doesn't understand the difference between a private company having an investment in Ukraine and the government's being invested in it. That's a him problem. His administration ironed out this deal. Working with Trump's before he took office. Every side agreed. He had plenty of chances to negotiate or say it's not enough or even no. He didn't. Instead he waits until he's in front of the cameras to suddenly renegotiate a deal that had already been okayed by him.

@deufvelli He should have said so during negotiations instead of after he'd agreed to the deal. He was there because he asked for it to be signed there. Stop acting like he flew in, they tossed him a deal he knew nothing about, and objected to it.
