@actualideas8078 Socialism is an economic system. We have a mixed economy, but mostly capitalist. So no we aren't a socialist country. Conservativism would be based on each government or culture because it means to conserve something. It's not some blanket thing. The country was founded on the idea of small federal government and protection from said government. It was founded on very liberal ideas all based on the enlightenment. The founders would have fallen into the libertarian category today or what's referred to as classic liberalism, depending on the particular person. Since that's what the country was founded on, that would be what's being conserved. You'd love Ian on Timcast IRL because he's constantly linking everything to the Federal Reserve. It's annoying because doing away with it at this point would be economic suicide. You, like the SJW mob, need to realize you can't change history and must work with the system as it exists today in order to make any changes to the system for the future. You can't base policy on attempting to correct the past because you can't fix it and attempting to fix the past, that a lot of current policies rest on, would do more damage in the long term. Instead smaller policies that can be built upon is much more effective for the here and now as well as the future.

@bushy9780 Science is based on faith as well. Especially recently when the scientific method seems it's being thrown out the window. Our understanding changes as new information becomes available. Things that were based on science in the past are now no longer true, and that's normal. Yet when someone dares to question it, they are a heretic or "science denier", but science only advances when we question what we believe we know.

Tiger Tamer Socialism? You realize capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than any other system right? Yes, regulations are not capitalism. There are no economic socialist countries. They are all varying degrees of capitalism. So please point to an example of your claim.

@demaals A multigenerational home isn't children doing chores. It's adult children having a job and helping pay the bills. For example 4 generations lived in this house and the bills were split between the adults. Me and my husband paid the bulk of them, my mother paid the home insurance, and her and my grandmother split the property tax and my grandmother paid the water bill. Both of them were elderly and widowed. The property was in my grandmother's name so by your proposal only she would be allowed to vote even though we all paid taxes. So I would have no voice in how the country was run, which directly affected me and my children far more than my mother or grandmother since I was the one paying federal taxes. You brush off something because it's obviously something you know nothing about which is clear by your children doing chores bs. Living like that isn't uncommon in certain communities like rural areas, Hawaii, and Hispanics. It's not at all unusual to have a single home like that or to have multiple homes on a few acres. My grandmother's family ranch was like that with 3 houses on the over 100 acres and my grandfather's family farm was split between the children with each getting 2.5 acres.
