There was one showing why people are hesitant and the number one reason is wanting possible long term side effects data. Not something unreasonable given the history and current issues with many medications. Lack of data is the reason for most of it. Some are waiting for full FDA approval first (I think that was number 2). Only a very small percentage was due to what they are trying to claim it all is based from. Edit: Plus the percentage of unvaccinated also includes children which aren't currently approved to receive it and with current data don't appear to be at particular risk from the virus. I'm not sure with the new variant, but it was rare for them to even be able to spread the first one. Every state has 75% or more of their at risk population vaccinated.

How about we talk about the misinformation on the CDC website? On the main page it says it's perfectly safe for people with my conditions. When you go to the FAQ, it says there's no data on it's safety or effectiveness because we weren't included in the studies. Because I stay informed, I know that it's not working for people like me. Only a small percentage have produced an immune response. So the government is telling me it's fine for me to risk my life (because there's a risk with any vaccine that my immune system will go nuts and kill me and that's why they are not recommend for me) to take something that I'll get no benefit from to make their numbers look better. Their actions don't even fit the narrative they are trying to project.
