@jackdudley3755 I can't think of a single wellness checkup test used in the US that is harmful. The only ones that could possibly be considered that are the scopes. Even then, the dangers are wholly dependent on how they are done. For example if they are done under anesthesia or not and are not done unless a new stool test shows it's needed. All other screenings are noninvasive and usually a blood test. Those tests would be confirmed before any treatment is done. I worked for years in a medical lab and I'm very familiar with everything that happens and the process. The fact you say the UK doesn't perform some testing that is common in the US strictly due to cost, shows the downside of a government run system. Those that are poor here are on government healthcare/insurance and those tests are still performed. They are also covered 100% or for a co-pay of $20-$40 for everyone with private insurance. Very few citizens aren't able to afford the testing. For those it's symptom based like in the UK. Edit: The fact that the testing we do creates a better overall outcome because early detection is key in the survivability of cancer. Adjusting because your government doesn't want to pay the cost of that testing is disingenuous. It's ignoring that our early detection creates the result of survival due to the nature of cancer.

What's funny about him using that is it's similar to the healthcare thing. We're lower than most countries they want us to become.

@bottleofwatero1 This is what a lot of people don't understand. When the Republican party is said to be right wing, in Europe that means something completely different than in the US. There is no "right wing" party in the US because it's very foundation is liberalism.

To all those coming to comment that cancer survivor rates aren't better because of our healthcare, stop citing treatment outcomes. Prescreening for cancer is a huge part of our healthcare system. It's covered by private and all forms of government plans for the poor. That's because early detection is key in surviving cancer and directly creates the discrepancy. That's why the argument is healthcare and not treatment. Stop trying to change the goalpost.
