The piece of Venom being left isn't to move him into the MCU. It's to introduce Spiderman becoming Venom like in the comics. Disney is the MCU. These characters belong to Sony. The deal with Disney is no longer in place. This movie is to separate Spiderman from the rest of the MCU now. None of them know who he is now so he'll no longer be associated with the Avengers. Edit: Because it's just a piece, we'll still have the Venom movies along with Spiderman joining with it.
