In college I hung out with the theater kids even though my major was psychology. One day they asked me why. I told them because eventually everyone of them would need to come see me. Job security.

@justhecuke Except when there's a real issue like water pipes busted, city not repairing pot holes, etc.

I used to color my hair purple every May for Lupus Awareness because I have it and that's the ribbon color. I don't do it anymore. It's something visible someone could look into, but now it would just ge ignored.

@WilfChadwick By creating them. Children want to please their parents more than anything. Which means it's very easy to steer them certain directions.

@clarkbowler157 If you dress in a way that you know will draw attention, you want that attention. It's simple psychology. Someone who doesn't want to be noticed will dress in ways not to draw attention to themselves. They'll go out of their way to blend in. This is usually an unconscious decision. Saying something doesn't mean that even unconsciously, the opposite isn't true. Especially when your actions scream the opposite. That's not even psychology 101. It's high school level stuff. There's a reason there's the saying actions speak louder than words. People lie. They usually get caught in that lie by their actions.

@clarkbowler157 Because I'm not mentally unstable. Because I don't need to demand complete strangers "celebrate" me to have self-worth. Also, that word is a slur. Only gay people can reclaim it. Not people with weird fetishes or that want to live the lifestyle of a gay person. That I can function in society makes me better automatically. Edit: As someone who's disabled, the very idea that I'm as good for society as someone who isn't is delusional. By definition, I'm not. Good in what way also? I'm a good person, which makes me better than someone who isn't. I'm a good mother, which makes me better than an abusive one. So yes, some people are indeed better than others, and to claim differently just means you're not or someone you care about isn't, so you require everyone else to pretend there's no such thing.
