That's what the guy that created Papa John's had happen several years ago. He was listing off what's not allowed, said it, and the board used it as an excuse to get rid if him. This isn't new.

That's ridiculous. Not everyone in this country speaks English as a first language. How are they supposed to learn that's not acceptable if they're never told the word? I'll remind you, many languages have very similar sounding words. So of course teachers will have to use it and explain it. That's why context matters, which you fail to grasp. Edit: Before you try to say the kids he was talking to were clearly not immigrants, you don't know the makeup of that class. There very likely were Hispanics in the class who heard them saying it casually to each other, so it's always best to explain in detail what's acceptable so there's no confusion.

@bl4ckkn1g8t5 That wasn't your goalpost. "Teacher's should not use racist slurs in classrooms". I'm showing context matters and that yes, they can be. You are aware, by the interviews with the students, the black students are allowed to use that word, right? They would not have gotten in trouble. The teacher would for sending them out. The teacher was expressing his disdain for the word being used at all and not wanting it in his classroom. Which it's his classroom and he sets the rules. I explained how, in context, it absolutely can and should be used to make absolutely sure everyone that heard it being used understands what he's talking about. It's not a "slur" unless targeted at someone. Otherwise it's just a word that's perfectly legal to say. He did not direct it at anyone and was only saying it's not allowed in his classroom by anyone. Imagine barely speaking English and being told you can't say the "n word" while hearing it in the classroom, in popular music, etc. You would never think a word used that often was the "n word". Edit: Yes I had teachers say a swear word isn't allowed if it was used by a student and repeat the word. Then again it was extremely common to have students that were attending SLE in the morning. So not everyone spoke good English. Maybe you need to be around a more diverse area.

@spearfisherman308 I'm not posting for them. I'm posting for people who maybe questioning why it's okay that are on the fence. A debate is never to convince the other side. It's to educate those witnessing it.
