@jerrywhidby. Hispanics refers to people from countries that speak Spanish. Those entering from central and south America are Latinos. They are a mix of Spaniards and the native population. Most are fairly heavy on the native part rather than the Spaniard part. So no, they are technically not white though some will be lighter than others. That's why on the census it's non Hispanic white. Everywhere I've lived has had a large and increasing population of them for the last 35 or so years because I've always lived close to the Texas state line so I'm very well versed in their lineage. Edit: They're only "white" if you consider American Natives white because they share the same DNA (depending on the area in the US the tribe is from).

@Actually_Woke_6277 Ukrainians fall under the standard definition of a refugee because they are fleeing war. Meaning they are legally entering. Venezuelans also meet that definition because they're fleeing political persecution and some religious persecution. People from countries that are simply poor or their government doesn't provide for enough safety do not fall under that category and thus are illegal and should be sent back. That would free up the immigration services to be able to handle the roughly 1% that are entering that meet the criteria for refugee. People that are real refugees, like Ukrainians, lose their status once the war is over and are returned to their country. I have no problem accepting people that are fleeing Communism like Venezuelans are. They are the best to warn people about it's dangers and the reality of it just like Cubans have been.
