@danamcwhite There are exceptions to what is allowed to go to Cuba. One of them is food. So trying to blame the trade embargo for food shortages is either a deliberate lie or ignorance of the embargo. You get to choose which one you think they are doing here.

@robertkim3331 In China a little over $8,000 a year is considered living in poverty, in the US it's around $25,000. The US poverty income is higher than the average income in China. So to try to compare the two on just numbers is beyond misleading. Especially when China's economy is so close to the US economy. The reason is because there is no international standard to rate poverty. There is one for extreme poverty however. It's $2 US dollars a day. Even the homeless here can easily get that from strangers so it's pretty much nonexistent in the US. That's not true for China because they have slave labor. Plus, it cost China's government an unsustainable amount to just give people to "lift" them out of poverty. They only did it to say look good internationally and to set a record. They will not and can not sustain it because just giving someone money doesn't "lift" them out of anything.

@dozyproductionss We do own it and have since the end of the Spanish American War in the late 1800s. It was part of the treaty. We own and control that island. If you don't know that simple fact, how am I to take anything else you say seriously? You apparently can do all this amazing research into certain families, but don't know a treaty from a war we won. Not impressed.

@jaw-knee771 So even though Russia has invaded two of it's neighbors, threatens often to turn the gas off to Europe during the winter, and believes that all the countries that became independent after the fall of the USSR should still be part of Russia they aren't a threat anymore so NATO should be done away with? To make it clear, I understand strategically why they invaded Ukraine, that doesn't make them not a threat. It also doesn't mean I believe it was a good thing to invade a sovereign country. The difference between you and me is that I can say Russia invading Georgia and Ukraine was bad and so was the US invading Iraq and Afghanistan even though I fully understand the reasons behind all those things. I'm not a hypocrite and can say both are bad and that neither justifies the other. You on the other hand, are using things the US has done to justify the bad behavior of other countries. You are a hypocrite. If you think the US doing something is bad, then any other country that does similar things is also bad. It's called principles. Edit: The US is also in an agreement with Europe to provide security. We were pulling everything out of Europe and Russia started threatening so European countries asked us to put the stuff back.
