  2. They're intentionally framing it backwards. Private property rights is one of the foundations of western countries and the right to defend it. Everyone should be well aware that a person has the right to defend their property. It's the person trying to take your property that's decided it's worth the risk to their life. They should be fully aware that the property owner can end them.

If you don't like other people being able to own guns the only fix is changing the Constitution and good luck with that. As for abortion, the majority of the country believes it should be legal but severely restricted and limited. Only 2 states have out right banned it. All the others just put in what the majority believe would be those reasonable restrictions.

  5. Protecting your life isn't excessive. That's the first problem with your statement. If you acknowledge he was likely defending his life his response isn't excessive. The law says in fear for your life. If you're in fear for your life you have the RIGHT to defend your life with deadly force. There's no " I understand why" when it comes to a right.
