@kylelloyd4437 It doesn't produce enough energy to offset the energy used to create them. Both them and solar farms destroy the environment they're placed in. They leak oil and kill migrating birds and insects necessary for proper plant growth. Then there's the disposal issues. You don't "save the environment" by destroying it.

I lived in Arkansas, and our rivers froze, causing us to lose our hydro power. Fortunately, we were able to crank up our natural gas power so we didn't have anywhere near the problems Texas did.

I don't think just because a lot of people agree on why something is bad means they're " being parrots" and using "buzzwords." I'm supposed to come up with a completely new reason for a topic that's been being discussed for 10 years? Somethings are just facts, no matter how often they're repeated and pointed out by different people. That's like saying the Earth is round is being a parrot and using buzzwords.

It never will be. If it was, the government wouldn't have to push it. People would naturally turn to it. Same with electric cars. I have solar panels on my roof because they drastically lower my energy bill. They were put on by a private company. That's different than blanketing the land in them. There's not enough of the materials on Earth to make them for 100 years at the current rate of use. That alone makes it stupid to invest in. Then you run into even more problems with disposal of both because of the dangerous components in them that leech into the soil and they're long disintegration period.
