How is it different? A child was abused to obtain the images or movies. How is how they are distributed effect that? It's no different than someone printing the image multiple times. The only difference is in possibly using the federal mail to send it. In fact, the internet has drastically increased the amount of this material that's available meaning more children are being harmed now then were before. If you want to argue they are international now, they always were to an extent. I really want to understand why how they are obtaining them effects the sentencing guidelines. Edit: As an abuse victim, the internet existing didn't change what happened so why would it change the sentence for the same crime?

Barrett had no record so she wasn't chosen based on it. These people are all on a preapproved list that's put out by an agency.

That depends on the crime and the law broken. Even in some of her cases it was acknowledged that she had to go with the sentencing guidelines. The others were because of a Supreme Court decision that added judge's discretion.

@ngrey651 It was a joke. She didn't like it. That's not sexual harassment. He was never accused of assault. That was Kavennaugh which also wasn't proven despite an FBI investigation and the state opening a case. Her own witnesses said it didn't happen. Anita Hill also couldn't provide collaboration even though it was in a room full of other lawyers. An accusation isn't the same as a something being proven. If it is, then I accuse you of being a pedo and now (using your own reasoning) it's true. You also r@ped me. Edit: Meanwhile there is tons of proof Clinton is a predator and he's perfectly fine and safe. There's also proof so is Biden, but again perfectly fine. Don't bring up accusations as being proof unless you want things that have been proven being thrown in from the opposite side.
