@BillRoyMcBill Except in this thread you see people attacking this person because they practice a religion. They aren't attacking the institution, they are attacking the individual because they are involved in the institution. In other words, this thread debunks your opinion.

@Buck Naked We have this horrible thing called freedom of religion which means they are free to believe anything they want. Like it or not, Catholic hospitals alone have saved millions of lives around the world. They also have done more than any other organization to feed and care for the poor. I don't agree with the cover ups and you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that does. To act like this only happens with this group is not reality. It's a much larger problem in Jehovah's Witnesses not to mention child brides is Mormonism (historically) and Islam. It's very disingenuous to target only one organization. The Catholic Church has been criticized for this since it came to light while other religious organizations are allowed to continue in the shadows with zero accountability even though it's been well documented. I want to see people like you attack Islam, but you don't because the Catholic Church is an acceptable target and Islam is somehow protected.

@lukeknight1936 This is false. This has been an issue for decades. There was a reason that the Korean neighborhood got attacked during the LA riots when the issue was police brutality. In interviews people said it was because they didn't like how Asians were in their neighborhoods and how Asians looked at them like they were beneath them. It ignores that there has been a large uptick in these incidents. In order for there to be an uptick, there had to be a problem to begin with. Edit to add: That said, it is an individual choice to act like this. That doesn't mean there isn't a larger issue within the community that needs to be addressed. Just like all racism, it's learned and teaching it needs to be stopped.
