  1. It's because they are limiting their context to just since 2014 or when the USSR fell instead of digging into the underlying history or understanding the culture. I have no issue with trying to understand Russia's viewpoint. The problem is the viewpoint they are explaining is based only on things Putin claims were said. They understand the MSM lie, but can't seem to understand Putin does just as much and are giving him the benefit of the doubt. They ignore his invasions of Chechnya and Georgia, they don't understand that a Russian ruler's success is based on their expansion, they don't even understand Putin has been preparing for this invasion for 3-4 years so blame Zelenskyy when he wasn't even in power at that point. I've been most disappointed in libertarians because they've just thrown the principles it's based on right out the window which is self determination and self defense. Edit: The same people that have been dogging leftists for US bad have quickly jumped on that same bandwagon and I find it disgusting.
