@CrAAAstastic Yes the American Dream that me and the husband achieved. From food stamps to top 10%. 6% this year, but it was a turnaround year so a lot more money from overtime. Own a lovely home with an inground pool that would be over a million in BC, Canada where my husband is from. Two sons in their 20s both with good jobs and one got married this year. The vast majority of the poor will reach middle class during their lifetime. That's the dream and it is indeed achieved by the overwhelming majority.

@fvallo They do and voted overwhelmingly for a conservative government who promised to stop it. It's one of the main reasons they voted to leave the EU. Unfortunately the politicans lied, and in the UK there is a true uniparty. There's pretty much no difference between Labour and the Tories. I'm not in the UK, but that was an ignorant comment.

Those are donated by hairstylists in the area. They LOVE posting about it.

They don't have the authority to let them work. That's per federal labor laws. They shouldn't get jobs anyway over US citizens and legal immigrants.

They were begging it for help and being from an area that's been dealing with smaller numbers of them for decades I just laughed. They've never lifted a finger even though it's the result of their policies.

They both embraced those laws and the Chicago mayor is chastising his own constituents because they're complaining.

They wouldn't spend it on that though.

It's a long game strategy by the Democratic party. Allow them in, they feel good towards the party, their children or them will vote for them once they're able. It's why they've tried to mainly focus them into red areas and the administration attempted a remain in Texas rule. That's a lot of future electoral votes for President and House and Senate seats.

9 million is not a small fraction. That's the bulk. Now I'm aware all of them are not Venezuelans, but several million of them are. And that's just this year. It's not counting the millions from last year and the year before. It's a new record every year. Edit: Do you think they're staying in those countries? There have been videos of them destroying their documents from countries they'd been living in for a couple years just the other side of the border. Many are from Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, etc.
