  1. The whole "there's a bigger support system in rich neighborhoods than poor ones" tells me he's never lived in a poor one. There's way more support for each other and helping each other than a rich one. I've lived in both and seen it.

  3. That's not why they were shutdown. They were shutdown because they were rampant with abuse and mistreatment. You're complaining about nursing homes which you aren't and can't be forcibly put into unless you physically can't care for yourself. So you'd rather grandma be sitting in her own pee and poop because that's what would happen. If a family isn't going to care for their elderly, where they're physically located doesn't matter. Everything is already done on an individual level. They're discussing policies not individual cases.

Having been alive and a teenager during the highest crime rates in history, I remember the people in those neighborhoods begging police to stop the dealing because it was ruining their neighborhood. Dealers in your neighborhood bring druggies into your neighborhood and if they don't have enough to get what they're looking for are they going to go all the way across town to hit the wealthy neighborhood or are they going to break into homes or mug people close by? It's the second one. It destroys once good neighborhoods very quickly.
