What's really upsetting is that a lot of the people advocating for these new rules grew up during the time period you mentioned. They saw the unbelievable amount of violence that it brought. Having grownup in the midst of it myself, I can't understand their reasoning. We knew what would happen and yet they still do it. The same people that freakout at school shootings when they lived during a time you were 40 times more likely then today to be shot or stabbed at school. So they thought it would be great to bring that back. Edit: On the plus side it will stop all this victimhood BS narrative and someone's feels being the most important thing in the world. When you grow up knowing you're likely to be seriously injured by an attack or killed, you stop caring about what other people think. You become Gen X.
