How kind of you to be fine with US citizens having to pay more taxes for the benefit of your country. How about we tax your country for recieving it. That sounds much better to me.

@pierredelecto7069 Which both were caused by governments locking down and oil is government policies pushing green energy. That's why Cyberpunk said caused by natural disasters or wars not caused by your government. None of that applies to the current situation we find ourselves in.

I don't blame the "greedy" corporations for government policies. It was the locking down of all stores except those by the government that caused that.

Combine the losses with them no longer reinvesting into exploration because the government has told them they're eliminating them. To them, at this point, it's getting as much as they can until the government shuts them down.

The fact after that I still see people proclaiming how great it is is mind boggling. That was a pretty good test run on it and we still can't get some people back into work.

@25taylorkw Even "common sense" regulations were put in by corporations to stifle competition. In the US there's a case right now that's a good example of how this happens. When we put in food inspections, it was to increase the public's trust in grocery stores. Before that, they got it directly from the farmers so they could see for themselves what they were getting. Now the government is using the Commerce clause to come after local farms still selling like that under the guise of public safety. Forcing these local farms to go through and pay for government inspections will bankrupt them or drive the cost up so much that it's no longer as viable for the general population. So for your "safety" you won't be allowed to buy produce or meat from a local source even though you know them and their products, even though if you got ill from them you could have sued them. If it goes through, in a few years you'll believe it was because the government was protecting you, not consolidating its power over your ability to get food. Not to mention the increase to corporate farms and grocery stores. Even meat you hunt and kill will have to be inspected and food you grow yourself. I'm not kidding either. The court made the farmer in question get the food he was serving his children inspected. Edit: This is a unique case because the Amish farmer in question has a huge business and ships all over the country. However, that happened due to word of mouth and the quality of the products he provides. He's setting a model for other farmers to follow and that's dangerous to the industry. Imagine if other farms could mimic his success. That's what they want stopped because it is taking profits from big businesses and that market will grow to take more and more. A lot of people found out they could go to farmers and get products much cheaper during the pandemic when there were shortages and that's dangerous.

It was also broken. Computer chips were particularly hard to come by because of countries in Asia's lockdowns. Add in that California, one of our busiest ports, had laws go into effect that blocked older trucks from entering to transport goods, was giving more money than just the federal one to people, and had changed the rules about shipping containers only being stacked so high. You did not see similar problems in our other major ports. Unfortunately, shipments from China come in mainly through California.
