@jneusbaum3697 you are welcome. Just throwing it out there, forgiveness is mostly there to remove negative attachment to a situation internally, not negate external consequences, but internal ones. Forgiveness is for your peace, not the others. I learned that if I wait to forgive, it's like waiting to take antibiotics until your heart stops from Corona virus attacking your lungs.
I get that this could sound preachy, but I'm not a religious advocate, rather a giver of fucks about my fellow human, hence the sharing of knowledge.
Loving ones enemy doesn't negate the consequences of his attempt on my life, but rather states I will finish the deed as quickly and cleanly as possible, to provide a counter perspective. Hate, often thought of as extreme, can be subtle: see passive agressive behavior. While hate is not the opposite of love exactly, there is a triangle of opposites if you will, where losing one aspect of love, forgiveness, peace, results in hate, grudge, unrest.
As the former invade all aspects of your life, so do the latter.
