@reese7299 some believe addiction is a disease So they compare it to diseases I have family members who are alcoholics and I’ve come to understand it’s a disease of how the brain is wired They are responsible for wanting to get help though and there’s low dose naltrexone or the “ Sinclair method” It’s used to slowly retrain the brain to not desire it. I spent an entire summer learning about the method for the family and a former best friend. None of the 3 wanted to try the method. An addict needs to want to get help. So in that way they have a choice. But opioid and alcohol addiction is a very strong addiction I hope you are well now.
