Have you seen the Netflix series? It reinforced the fact that all the kids on that boat knew that Paul got drunk (they called his alter ego “Timmy”). I had tremendous sympathy for Mallory, and still do for her family, however the Netflix showed Alex and Morgan (Pauls girlfriend) on the boat, with her squirting shots into Alex’s mouth. Alcohol was a big problem in that family, and Morgan knew that and still was part of it. I am just wondering where the personal responsibility was with those kids getting into a boat with their friend drunk, being high themselves on alcohol, and underaged at 19 years old. I have always taught my kids when they were teens to never get into a car with a friend who was drinking..and to take personal responsibility for their actions, I just wonder if the boat wasn’t Alex Murdaugh, and there was no more than 500K to be made (the policy he had on it), would the attorney be there? By the way, my son is an attorney. You just have to teach your kids and at 19, they should know they shouldn’t be drinking. How did Connor get those shots at the bar with Alex? Why isn’t the attorney going after the bar that served the underaged boys the shots that may have caused that final drunkenness? Maybe no money in it? the kids say they wanted a Connor to drive and they were taking turns…wasn’t he also drunk? When you get on a moving vehicle, knowing someone is drunk..pretty simple. DON’T. GO ON IT.. We are teaching our kids that it is always someone else’s fault…and the PIP attorneys reinforce this. Just drive down any major highway and look at the billboards. Mallorys death pulls on our heartstrings, and rightly so- a beautiful young girls life cut short…but we have to really address the issue-of personal responsibility and common sense—especially if we have kids.

@SanGeet0510 yes, and they all drank. They all also knew Paul got drunk. They called him “Timmy” at those times as if it was a joke. He was their means to get alcohol as underaged kids. They all must have profited greatly from the Netflix series, especially Morgan who is featured the most. She even showed a photo of shooting shots into Alex’s mouth. Thats when I changed my mind about seeing the kids as victims. They were willing partners in underaged drinking and hanging out with someone they knew should not be behind any wheel. My son is a lawyer and not the same. He represents insurance companies.

@Boo-dawg. yet he served underaged kids alcohol in his home and boat. I changed my mind after watching the Netflix and seeing Mallory throwing shots in Alex’s mouth on his boat. Paul was a product of his parents. Maggie also was home with underaged kids drinking in her home.

@Wise__guy I do know that. Mallory may be alive if she made a different decision. My father used to tell me that if you play with fire you get burned. Buster is really the one to blame for giving his brother his ID, and also Alex for allowing his son to take a boat out at night like that, knowing that his son has a problem with alcohol, but it doesn’t excuse these kids that are already adults getting into a boat knowing that they’re friend just had shots and he’s more drunk than he was the hour before. The fact that they all were drinking all night clouded their perception of reality.

@samsun99 it was postponed bc of the murders. A court hearing was scheduled for June 10th for the boat accident.

@surgicaltechcrafter2169 I posted almost the exact same thing I too was so originally invested in the boat incident until I saw the Netflix series These kids knew “ Timmy” as they called him drunk, was getting behind the wheel It’s unfortunate but they made the choice and out their lives at risk.Alex and Maggie served underaged kids alcohol in their home and boat. Mallory was on her boyfriends lap perhaps making out with him. That’s what we used to call it. They were all under the influence Her boyfriend mentioned they were going to take an Uber Why didn’t they?

@olasek7972 yes, but no matter what, the boat owner is liable..but yes, personal responsibility.

@Yeteva1 The interesting thing is that if. You are hit by a car that has no insurance, you get nothing. If you are hit in your car by a Red Cross truck, you may get millions. I know of someone who was on his way home and got rear ended by a Red Cross truck, he became a quadriplegic-horrible- he got 20 million and was able to buy a new house and set it up completely.. If he was hit by Joe Schmo, who had no car insurance, he would get nothing and be desolate. Tinsley knows there’s money for this case-if there wasn’t he wouldn’t stick around. This case will bring him notoriety and get his name passed around…more business. I’m not faulting him for that, but it is what it is.

@Yeteva1 well the reason we buy insurance is for a claim against it. It protects us. So yes its the law to sure someone for injuries. And this is also getting the attorney notoriety and fame.

@julesthecat. I believe he may have thought killing Paul was a mercy killing bc as a lawyer he knew what prison would do to him-it doesnt however explain why. He killed his wife-we know she was going to divorce him and take half of everything-or she just saw the shooting. But he’d have to already know that bc she was there and they all had eaten dinner together half an hour prior. He knew they all were going to the kennels.
