@to_spliced_up4889 A Christian is one who KNOWS they are going to heaven when they die, because of what was accomplished on the cross. According to the council of Trent, which’s still stands today, you are “anathema” (cursed to hell) if you believe you have assurance of salvation.’Please reconsider your affiliation with an organization who has always kept their members in purgatory-an unbiblical place.

@to_spliced_up4889 I know you are Catholic— You said you were a “Christian Catholic” which in a way is an oxymoron bc Jesus came to give us eternal life in heaven the moment we die, and the RCC denies that his death on the cross is sufficient to save us.

@to_spliced_up4889 Yes that is the verse they always use. Works is a RESULT of salvation, not a means. Also James was talking to the Jewish believers in Jesus who were previously under the law. The Gentiles were never under the law. The law was a schoolmaster to reveal sin. I can send you all the verses that states that salvation is by GRACE through FAITH. I happen to be a Jewish believer of 28 years. We are sinners, there is nothing we can do to save ourselves just like no human sinner on earth can pray anyone out of purgatory. I am 67 so I no longer battle - I will just ask you to search the scriptures to see what is true. It takes time and discipline to get to know G-d through His word. The Bible is not important to RC’s You have to come to a place where you admit you have not studied the scriptures and you are teachable. I had to do that as well 28 year ago.

@to_spliced_up4889 We are all dead in our trespasses and sins, but are made righteous IN CHRIST (not in our selves). It takes a lot to leave a religion you were born into. I lost my entire Jewish family when I decided to believe in Jesus. So its a choice - trusting in Jesus and what HE said-or trusting a Rabbi or a Pope (unbiblical office according to the book of Hebrews) The Priest brought the sacrifice to the temple to atone for the sins of the people. That was over and done when the curtain was torn in the temple when Jesus was crucified. That meant that the sacrifice was complete-no longer a Priesthood, Jesus went tot he cross willingly. No Priest. So that whole office -where in the mass Jesus is called down from heaven to be eaten in a wafer…well, thats another story. Seek God and His truth and you will find it. Ephesians 2:8-9 New International Version 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

@to_spliced_up4889 Thats too bad. That is precisely why He came to earth. He even says so if you will read.
