Tik, I think you do not mention the obvious as to why Hitker did not end the War. He was fully aware of the enormous crimes he had ordered and the millions murdered. And he had no illusions that he would face justice if caught by the Western Allies and god knows what if caught by the Soviets. It was best to fight it out. It extended his life for nearly 3 years of comfortable living and the ability to kill millions more Jews and his other racial enemies.
