  1. Great job on the insulation and floor. The things you've learned earlier (16 inch joist centers) are paying off now. Doing is the easy part. Planning is where you save time and money. The more you learn, the better you plan, and the easier it gets. A suggestion for your generator box: put a long screw or nail on the outside of the box to hang the end of your power cord over when not in use. That will make it easier to find the cord the next time you visit the cabin instead of needing to dig it out of the snow.
