  1. Nothing says Winter like a boot squeaking on snow. 40-some years ago I attended college in far upstate NY. Got to experience some -35 F temperatures first hand and learned what a harsh environment that really is. Now living in the Florida Panhandle where it rarely gets below freezing, so I miss the squeaky snow every now and then. Thanks for bringing us along and letting us old-timers remember the days of yore, when we were youngsters who enjoyed just being out in the cold a while, playing hockey on the river. Those northern lights are always a special treat too.
