  1. It's not a venomous snake. 🙄 Diamondback water snake. It is an extremely common species of non-venomous snakes that is a member of the ‘colubrid’ family. They are often mistaken for the poisonous variety of the ‘cottonmouth’, owing to its biting habit. This creature is also misidentified as the venomous ‘rattlesnake’, or even a ‘water moccasin’, a species of pit viper, because of its dark pigmentation and irritable temperament, and is often killed out of fear. It belongs to the genus ‘Nerodis’, all of which are native to the continent of North America. The snake posed no more than a nuisance to her. The bites could be treated by washing with soap a water and topical anti-biotic.

What if you're walking along, minding your own business and a snake drops out of the sky and starts biting your face, then a hawk comes out of nowhere and attacks you, clawing your arms with needle sharp talons, to get the snake which is biting your face? What are you going to do, call someone else to bring a gun?!??! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! That won't work. ALWAYS be armed.
