  1. My memories of the S&I Museum most often include the U-505 and the enormous model railroad layout. I could stand on the balcony above and watch those trains for hours! Probably wouldn't interest kids now. 🤷‍♂ At that time, of course, the submarine was parked outside the museum. I'm glad they moved it indoors where it will be better preserved. The story of how they moved the U-Boat from the lake to it's display at the museum would make for another interesting video in itself. FWIW, I have also been to the Royal Navy museum in Portsmouth and toured the "Victory", the "Warrior" and saw the "Mary Rose". That is an excellent museum and anyone going to the UK should NOT miss it, along with the Imperial War Museum.
