  1. The muzzle velocity will be reduced to the level of a 19th century black powder rifle. If that much. Ballistically, it is no longer a .50 BMG. It is a .50-70 (if that) and just wastes more powder. There was little flash with the shortest barrel because the powder was just blasted downrange without burning. If you had a white sheet on the ground you could probably scoop up the powder and reuse it.
