  1. It isn't so important that Manchin and Sinema hold firm, it is actually more important that AOC and the trailer trash squad "hold firm". THEY are the ones demanding the full Monty. Manchin and Sinema are very likely to concede to some addl. spending. Manchin has already conceded he would agree to $1.9-2.2 trillion. What is holding it up is the trailer trash in the House demanding "all or nothing". If THEY give in, it will pass. If they don't, it won't even be voted on.

  2. Unemployment rate went down NOT because people "went back to work" but because their benefits ran out Sept. 6th. Continuing claims fell because there is nothing left to claim. WILL they go back to work? Maybe. But more than a month has passed since the benefits ended and every business of any kind in my area is begging for workers. Labor shortages will be the driving force behind higher wages, and that's not a bad thing.
