  1. Government spending works like this: Go to the deep end of a swimming pool (the economy) and fill a bucket with water from the pool. We will call this process "Taxes". Now carry the bucket, splashing and sloshing and spilling water all over the pool deck, where it evaporates into nothing, to the shallow end of the pool. We will call this process "government waste". Now, throw whatever is left in the bucket back into the same pool. We will call this process "government spending". Then expect the water level in the pool to rise. 🤪
