  1. The debt is not "erased". It is given to taxpayers to pay. Taxpayers, those who actually pay income tax, are not low income. Let the colleges and universities underwrite loans and be on the hook when the $160,000 loan they made to a 17 year old without a job, to get a BA degree in Polynesian transgender studies defaults because the student with a degree is working at Starbucks.

  2. College educated "lower income" borrowers? What's wrong with that picture? What they should be ending is student loans! Like...eliminate them! You want a loan to go to school? Great, let your parents use their home equity to get a low interest loan and let their property be at risk if it isn't paid, OR let colleges underwrite loans and be at risk if they aren't paid. Look, giving loans to 17-18 year olds with no job is STUPID. Borrowing 10s or thousands of dollars when you have no job is STUPID. Filling out an application to do anything so STUPID should disqualify anyone from attending college. The "covid extension" for student loan payments will be extended until November 9th. If AOC isn't happy, we know we are doing the right thing.
