  1. These are the equivalent of "counter fire radar" used in the military that detects the location of artillery fire (shots). No modern military would be without them. The operator then uses the information provided to direct resources to the source of the fire (shots) and prevent further fire from that location. HOWEVER, both systems rely on coordinated RESPONSES to the information provided. If you don't DO anything with the information, the information is USELESS. That is NOT the fault of the system, it is the fault of the operators of the system. Mayor. Anyone we know, Mayor?
