  1. Everyone wants the "ease and convenience" of dropping off the car and leaving the keys. ALWAYS, return the car IN PERSON and receive a receipt or close the contract in writing with a signature. Verify there is no damage. STOP all this "hurry, hurry" nonsense and do it it right! Because if ANYTHING happens, YOU will pay the price.

  2. There ARE laws to punish people for making false police reports. ask Jussie Smollett. It isn't a "false" report if they believed it was true. There is a difference between a "lie" (knowingly false) and a mistake. Making mistakes is not criminal. Mistakes CAN BE a civil offense, for which they can be SUED, which is what is happening.
