As soon as he announces his candidacy, he comes under regulations of the Federal Election Commission regarding donations. Right now, he can do anything he wants. I would urge him to announce January 6, 2023. Just to stick his thumb in their eye.

@SamtheBravesFan "Dems" can't "indict" anyone. Congress cannot "indict" anyone. Congress is not law enforcement. All they can do is bad theater and make recommendations. But criminal charges require attorneys and witnesses for BOTH sides and cross examination of all witnesses AND a unanimous jury. Not a majority of a rigged committee. "Contempt of Congress", a minor misdemeanor that requires nothing but showing a person didn't comply with a subpoena, should be easy to prove. Yet only 2 of the 4 people referred for prosecution were charged. And that's for a fine of and jail sentence up to 1 year but likely nothing. Most likely a $1000 fine and 1 year probation. If Bannon or Navarro, for example, are convicted of contempt, they will appeal. After Republicans take control of the House, they will decline to answer the appeal and Bannon's conviction will be reversed. It will all be 2 years in the rear view mirror before the 2024 election. It's just political noise.

DeSantis WILL be President. In 2028. Until then, the best thing DeSantis can do is be a great Governor for another 4 years. He will be term limited after 2026, so maybe he can be Trump's Attorney General for 2 years. Can you imagine that?
