And you aren't working or collecting unemployment benefits...you don't count in the "unemployment rate" Formula examples: 100 people in the workforce, 94 have a job, 6 are collecting unemployment benefits. Unemployment rate: 6% Workforce participation: 100% 100 people in the workforce, 90 have a job, 4 are collecting unemployment, 6 have exhausted their unemployment benefits but have no job.
