  2. The Indian Express does not know how our Senate works. Patel has NOT yet been confirmed. Last night the Senate voted to limit debate (cloture) on his nomination. That starts a 30 hour 'clock' . The vote occurred at 5 34PM. So the final vote to confirm can happen 30 hours after that...11:34 pm tonight (or after) The Senate will convene at 10am today (February 19) I do not expect for them to stay in session until 11:30 pm Patel's confirmation vote will come Thursday, shortly after the Senate convenes for the day. AVOID internet news sources on things such as this. Go to the US Senate home page where ALL procedures are recorded. Not only do you you get ACCURATE information, you can see how YOUR Senator voted.
