  2. When Republicans take control next year they need to change the rules on confirmation hearings. Instead of 5 minutes per Senator, they need to make it a certain period per "side"...say 60 minutes or 90 minutes (equal to 5-10 minutes per Senator from each party, so the same amount of time, but not broken up into 5 minute segments) and let the "sides" divide their time and have the Senator(s) of their choice do the questioning. This should be much more like a deposition and a much less like 5 minute sound bites for re-election campaigns. This would eliminate the stonewalling for 5 minutes and the disjointed questioning where each Senator seems to have a different question to be "dodged" for 5 minutes.
