  1. I'm a boomer. "Over 60". So, yeah, I own 5 Model 1911s. All .45s, of course. The Hi-Power is for 9mm. I own 2 of those. My regular carry gun is a S&W Model 3914 DAO 9mm. 8 +1. My 2nd and 3rd choices are a S&W M642 .38 +P and a S&W M&P .380 Bodyguard. "Stopping power" as it applies to personal defense handguns means the ability to STOP someone from choosing YOU as their victim. If you are attacked and you shoot your assailant with a handgun (any handgun) and the assailant runs away...YOU WIN! Did you "stop" the assault? YES! But the age old .XX v .XX must go on. The only real questions is: "When you need a gun, are you going to bring your own or call 911 to have someone else bring one?"
