  1. You give them the "benefit of the doubt". Why? They know what they are doing and they are @ssholes. They are in abundant supply. When they are too close, I put the cruise control ON, set it for no more than the speed limit, and ignore them. You CAN NOT drive fast enough to get a safe space between you and an @sshole. If you drive at space-shuttle-in-orbit speed, they will still be on your tail. Keep the business card of a good ambulance chaser attorney on you at all times. If they hit you in the rear end, even a little...sue them for a new off shore fishing boat. DO NOT do anything to overtly provoke them. No "brake checks", no finger pointing. ALWAYS be armed. Remember that anyone attempting to FORCE their way into an occupied vehicle is justification for the use of deadly force.
