Answer: NO. Because we have not had our FIRST civil war, OR we have already had our 2nd civil war. There was no war between citizens of THE SAME COUNTRY. There was no war for CONTROL OF THE COUNTRY. The southern states declared independence and were subsequently invaded. If this is a civil war, then it was already our 2nd civil war since the circumstances would have been the same as our Revolution, yet that is not called a civil war.

Ummm...no, they did not. South Carolina seceded from the United States and joined the Confederate States of America. A separate and sovereign country. . Ft. Sumter was, therefore, no longer in the USA. South Carolina ordered the United States to remove their troops from the Territory of South Carolina. The United States ignored that order and sent additional troops into Ft. Sumter...INVADING the south. The Confederate States fired on Ft. Sumter in self defense to respond to the INVASION by the north. The USA attacked first. Now, you can say that the USA did not recognize the CSA as an independent country. OK. Neither did the UK recognize the USA as an independent country during the Revolutionary war. That means, as I correctly stated, that we have either had TWO "civil wars" already...or NONE...depending on which opinion you choose to believe. So, we CAN NOT have a "2nd civil war" We would have to either have our first...or our third.
