So...Elon Musk would pay the fines for what they did. You think that is right? Is that what you want? FACT: Other than possible perjury in testimony in Congress, there is no violation of criminal law in what they did. Twitter IS a private company and they CAN decide what is on their platform. IF the government assisted them in suppressing free speech that's an issue for the government to deal with, but in any case is not a criminal offense. The only question would be if that voids their protection under Act 230 and subjects them to civil lawsuits as a "publisher". Again...any such claims now would go against Elon Musk, who is fixing the problem. I imagine any court would toss such a lawsuit.

Not Vijaya Ghaddi. However, Elon Musk owns all shares of Twitter, Inc. The settlement (or judgement) would eventually come out of Elon Musk's pocket, just as it would have previously come out of shareholder's pockets. Doesn't matter if Musk cooperates or not.

  133. Hate to tell everyone in the comments, except for lying under oath to Congress there is no crime here. Private companies CAN censor speech in any manner they wish. It is not a crime. You don't have to like it, that's just a fact. The government cannot participate, but if they did, that's a problem for the government, not Twitter employees. And again, what is the CRIME? What is the statute violated and what is the specified punishment? I suppose you could try to charge someone with conspiracy to violate civil rights, but that would be a major stretch. But who would bring the charges? The DOJ? Don't make me laugh. Individuals COULD sue other individuals. For example, Dan Bongino could sue Vijaya Ghaddi. I'm not sure it would go anywhere. Civil court. Not a crime.
