  1. The solution? The government needs to GTFO of loaning money for education. Period. NO federal student loans. NONE. Let the colleges and universities underwrite the loans. And let them make the profits from interest/fees (or take the losses on defaults) and risk THEIR money by the fiscally brilliant concept of giving unsecured loans to unemployed 18 year olds. And allow THEM to "forgive" as many loans as they want.
