Comments by "gary K" (@garyK.45ACP) on "Speaker Johnson Asked: 'Are You Willing To Shut Down The Government' To Avoid CR Spending Bill?" video.
Let's have stand alone bills like you promised, Speaker Johnson. Put a standalone bill on the floor for funding for Ukraine And another for funding for Israel. And another for the border wall. And another for the budget. WHY aren't you doing what you said you would?

Johnson: "I will not do any more CRs" Also Johnson: "...unless we have to" Johnson: "I demand stand alone bills!" Also Johnson: "No funding for Ukraine unless it includes a border wall and changes to the asylum policy" 🤦🏼♂

@Bossman-pg8kk Election in November. Primaries starting next week. Primaries are the BEST time to replace someone. Every US House Representative is up for election.

@Bossman-pg8kk Everyone in the US House is up for election this year. Many states also put up their entire House for election this year. US Senate is always 1/3 every 2 years. You're the voter...vote. Since most House representatives are in "safe" seats (for the party), the primaries are the best place to "replace" someone for most House seats. It's easier to un-seat someone in a primary. Wishing and hoping won't change anything.

@moonpie2637 Election year. Primaries starting next week. The government will NOT be shut down. Johnson will just make excuses for why he isn't doing what he promised.

@nix4644 Of course he is. Only people who had unrealistic expectations are disappointed. AND it's an election year AND the Republicans have narrowest of narrow margins in the House.

@BJGober We have term limits. It is called an election. Every two years. Term limits for US Congress persons requires a Constitutional Amendment. Better to just pay attention and vote.

@traru4 Stand alone bills is one of the things he promised. Now, he REFUSES to do it. Why? Because a Ukraine aid bill would PASS easily and a Border Wall bill would FAIL miserably. Republicans need to accept that they aren't going to change anything with a 2 seat majority in one of three branches of government. They can STOP the Biden agenda, but they cannot reverse it.

@marybailey7881 No, I haven't thought that. I don't even own a tin-foil hat. I haven't had a TV since 2004 and never watched wrestling when I did have one.

@marybailey7881 Typical argument of a tin foil hat/conspiracy theorist.

@moonpie2637 Actually it would pass easily as a standalone bill. Easily. Slam dunk. 100% of Dems and 70% of Republicans in the House support it. It takes 218 votes to pass, Dems are 211. They need SEVEN votes out of 221 Republicans to pass. 🤔 The Republican's only chance of blocking it is to mix in a "poison pill" and refuse to put it to a vote until they get what they know will never be agreed to.

@lakeliving2013 He didn't mean for you to remember what he said before. He WILL NOT shut down the government with a barely there majority in the House and Dem controlled Senate and White House...in an election year with primaries starting Monday. He absolutely KNEW that when he agreed to the FIRST Continuing Resolution he said he wouldn't agree to.

@targgthewise2892 I have no problem with providing weapons to fight OUR enemy, Russia. Why on earth would you support Russian terrorism against the Christian women and children of Ukraine?!?!? Have you ever been to Ukraine? Have you ever lived there? Do you know any of the people? How could any American be OK with what Putin and Russia is doing in Ukraine!?!??!

@marybailey7881 Matt Gaetz...leader of the knucklehead caucus? It's an election year. Primaries coming up soon. He's in hiding. He figured out that by voting with Democrats he messed things up completely. Now, after losing GOP reps to illness and McCarthy retiring mid-term, the GOP barely has a majority at all. If they lose ONE Republican vote on ANY issue, it will not pass. They will be lucky if they can maintain their majority until the election.
