The voice vote is followed by a recorded "roll call" vote. ALWAYS. The recorded roll call vote is the one that "counts" How did YOUR congressperson vote?

@tomm9860 The "vote" is NOT in. This was a procedural vote, NOT the vote on the bill. The "vote" has not yet been taken. What will happen now? McCarthy will compromise with the Dems to get a few of their votes. He will then compromise with more Republicans to get their votes. All of that will add $$$ that WE will pay for. It will then PASS in the House. The Senate will pick it apart and add LOTS more $$$ to it. Then it will go back to the House where it will PASS with a bi-partisan vote. "Matt" only managed to delay. We really don't need term limits. we just need voters who have a clue.

What WILL happen now is that McCarthy will negotiate with Democrats to get at least 6 votes from them, by giving them something THEY want, at YOUR expense. @notsomuch273 Spoiler alert: Spending bills MUST originate in the House...per the Constitution. So...McCarthy can cut whatever he wants to get the votes he needs from Republicans in the House. YAY! But THEN the bill goes to the Senate. The Senate will amend the bill, and all the stuff the Democrats want and send it back to the House. 5, 6 or 30 Republicans will not be able to stop it. In fact, only 6 Republicans will be needed for it to pass. This is a temporary delay. Nothing more.
