Canada only has 'free' healthcare because the USA subsidizes their care, their military, and provides a safety valve by having large hospitals along the northern border. Why does the city of Burlington, VT (population 40,000) need a hospital employing more than 8000 people?!?!? The city of Plattsburgh, NY (just across the lake) also has a huge hospital. Why? Check all the Quebec and Ontario license plates in the parking lot. 🤔 I see license plates from Canada (mostly Quebec, some from Ontario) all over Florida all winter long. No one will be 'boycotting FL' over this. We appreciate all the $ you spend. Even if they are only worth 70 cents 🤣

I live in Florida. They haven't left. I see them every day...mostly Quebecois, but some from Ontario also. For whatever reason (probably the Quebecois) you see more Ontario license on the west coast of Florida.

@nickd4310 Somehow I think we will survive. With or without Canadians, Florida is the #1 tourist destination in the world. BTW, all your 70 cent dollars, and other countries' money, is why we have no income tax in Florida. Thanks!

@nickd4310 I would think your devalued currency has more impact on Canadian tourism than any kind of 'boycott'. Given that your $CAD is worth 30 percent less than ours, a 25% drop in Canadian tourism to anywhere is understandable, even predictable. Trying to gain some virtue signaling from your collapsing currency is just precious.🤣 Canadians are having a hard time affording a trip to Florida. Tariffs will crash your dollar even more (as they did before you guys got in line) Canada has about the population of California, so they are pretty irrelevant. If California were independent, they would be 2 notches above Canada in GDP. So, we really aren't too worried in Florida. Having a great, sunny, warm day here in paradise! I hope you are also.

@catherinesecord3399 The way the Canadian dollar is collapsing, reduced tourism is to be expected. Florida is still, and will always be, the #1 tourist destination in the world, whether or not Canadians can afford to come. But it is precious how you try to claim some 'virtue signaling' from the collapse of your currency. 😂
