Is the juice worth the squeeze? That's a lot of machinery to mitigate the recoil of the 5.45x39 cartridge. 🙄

Seems a strange choice. I am sure that ARs could be obtained for less $$$ and are more versatile with various attachments. But I am sure the Rugers serve the needs of the Bermuda troops.

@Halal_Dan Not really. Russia has been Ukraine's primary contributor of military equipment to date.

What about a powerful pneumatic (air) gun firing steel balls (BB size or larger) to shoot down other drones. The plastic drones don't take much to damage them and cause them to crash. Recoil would be very low. They could carry hundreds of "rounds" of ammo. A pre-charged pneumatic automatic rifle (PCP) would be easy to mount (and lighter than a firearm). There are many of them available on the market. OR, instead of an AK74, mount an autoloading (semi-automatic) shotgun, .410 bore or 28 ga. would be ideal. Again to target other drones. It would have no use against personnel or vehicles but could be effective against other drones. Better than ramming them which usually destroys both drones.

@muddyhotdog4103 I'm going to guess there was something else in play regarding the decision to use Rugers.🤷‍♂

Savage rifles have a long time reputation of being very accurate and are the basis for many precision rifles in the USA. I'm not surprised they are getting military attention. Long overdue. I am sure they will be very effective for hunting orcs.

@AIRFORCENONE How's that working out for them? The 2nd best army in the world Ukraine couldn't capture Bakhmut in 9 months and now are losing it in a few days. A few extra rounds per minute doesn't make any difference, does it. Like I said, the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

If Russia withdraws to 1991 borders, disarms, pay reparations and establishes a 200km demilitarized zone...we'll talk about it.

@eraserstp Ukrainians will pick up the rifles left on the ground by dead and surrendering Russians. Russia has been, to date, the largest contributor of weapons and vehicles to Ukraine. They sell them in Ukraine. The ads say "Like new, never fired. Only dropped once."
