  12. Hopefully, France and the UK will step up to LEAD. Our President stepped down. US troops, 10s of thousands of them, should have been sent to Ukraine BEFORE the war started, to conduct "exercises" with our ally, Ukraine. Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force. All there to conduct exercises with our friends in Ukraine and to train them with the new US supplied weapons. What an enormous missed opportunity that Ukraine will pay for for decades to come. There would never have been an invasion in 2022. But our weak President stepped back and promised "sanctions" IF Russia invaded. He wasn't leader enough to even impose sanctions for the THREAT of invasion.

  13. Thank you, Anna. My wife was a college student in Kharkov (Kharkiv) at that time. She takes medication for her thyroid and is monitored annually for thyroid cancer. So far, so good. There was no internet at that time, but there was "Radio Free Europe" and they were broadcasting that the disaster was quite serious. There was a lot of "talk" among the people about what had happened. Even the less sophisticated satellite data at that time was alarming. She believes it was the beginning of the downfall of the USSR and when people finally realized that the government was lying to them. Shocking that nearly 40 years later, so many Russians still believe what the government tells them. Slava Ukraini 🟦🟨
