I'm this old: One of my first jobs was working at McDonald's. Not my first job, but one of my first. They didn't have Big Macs yet. Only hamburgers (15 cents), cheeseburgers (20 cents), double hamburgers and double cheeseburgers and fish filet sandwiches. Fires, soft drinks (10 cents) and milk shakes. That's it. You got a burger and drink for 25 cents. Sales tax was 3% at that time, so there wasn't even any tax on a 25 cent sale. No indoor seating. No drive thru. You parked and walked up to an outdoor window. There were outdoor picnic tables, or you could eat in your car, or take it home. When Big Mac's (55 cents !!!!) came out I was a senior in High School. Fortunately I had moved on to higher paying careers by then. (bagging groceries and carrying them out to ladies' cars) I loved Big Macs and still can't get away from eating them! 🤣 It's all in that sauce!!!!!! BTW...both the McDonald's fish filet tartar sauce and the Big Mac sauce make excellent dipping sauce for French fries. Try it!!!!!!
