  2. To this young officer...I am a retired police officer after 36 years in law enforcement. Thank you for doing what you do. I will tell you that no career will be more rewarding. You chose this career because something in you told you it was what you should do. I think you will not regret it. I hope you have a long career and can can retire one day and do a lot of the things you like to do. I like to go fishing. You will think about this day for a long time. It will be one of the days you remember. Bad things will happen. You won't remember the bad days, not too much, I hope. You will remember the people who DON'T hate police because of what you did.
